about

So, Whats this all about then? Is it a concept album? What movie? Why put this out now? Why the hell not? And what’s with all the questions? Just enjoy it. For the complete info, read on...

The first release to come from the MDM vault is Gridlock - Original Motion Picture Soundtrack from 1973, by the Mayfield Garden Orchestra.

Don't bother looking for the movie, it was never made. But you do have a chance to enjoy some fine music!

This marks the first-ever full release of material from the brief but fruitful Michael Daniel/MGO union, and it shows the group and orchestra at its best, rolling though a broad range of styles, from the churning opener, “Gridlock (Main theme),” to a lively “Unexpected Car Ride,” and the exceptional instrumental track “3am Freeway.”

The sound on these discs is lovely: The clarity of the instruments is great—it’s practically like being at the soundstage, except without that distinctive smell of sweat and cigarettes.

In short, this one is a must for fans of early seventies style soundtrack albums (and doesn’t that include nearly all of us?)!

Included in the package is full artwork and an original poster from the archives.

A limited compact disc release is on the cards for March 2014.
